SIE cost

How much the SIE costs, and how to enroll.

The SIE costs $100, paid when you enroll. You can enroll yourself; no firm is needed.1,2

What you pay

  • Exam fee: $100.1,2
  • Payment: credit card, ACH, or a voucher.1
  • Veterans who qualify for the GI Bill may be able to get the fee reimbursed.1

Exemplar Prep is free, so study material adds nothing to that total.

How to enroll

  1. Create an account on FINRA’s enrollment site.1
  2. Enroll for the SIE and pay.1
  3. Schedule a seat at a Prometric test center, or test online.1

Enter your details exactly as a future employer will enter them on your Form U4. If they do not match, the result may not reach your record and you may have to retest.2

What comes after the SIE costs extra

Registering as a representative also needs a representative-level exam, taken through a sponsoring firm. FINRA lists the Series 7 at $395 and the Series 6 and Series 99 at $100.2,3,4,5
